Tee-Ball at Wellington Baseball Association
A Fun and Friendly Introduction to Baseball
Tee-Ball is where the baseball journey begins. Wellington Baseball Association’s Tee-Ball program is designed to introduce young players to the game in a safe, supportive, and fun environment, focusing on enjoyment, confidence, and basic skill development.
This program is ideal for children who are new to baseball, giving them the opportunity to learn the fundamentals while making friends and being part of a team.
What Is Tee-Ball?
Tee-Ball is a modified version of baseball created specifically for younger players. Games are structured to be inclusive and encouraging, allowing every child to participate, hit the ball, and experience success.
Key features of Tee-Ball include:
Batting from a tee (no pitching)
Shorter games with simple rules
Equal participation for all players
Emphasis on fun, teamwork, and learning
What Players Will Learn
Through Tee-Ball, players are introduced to:
Basic throwing, catching, and hitting skills
Running bases and understanding simple game play
Teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play
Confidence and a love for being active
Our focus is on development, not results, ensuring children build positive early experiences with sport.
A Great Experience for Families
Tee-Ball is also a fantastic introduction to baseball for families. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to get involved, whether through supporting teams, helping on game days, or simply cheering from the sidelines.
Wellington Baseball Association and its clubs aim to create a welcoming environment where families feel connected and supported.
Pathway Beyond Tee-Ball
Tee-Ball is the first step in Wellington Baseball Association’s player pathway. As players grow and develop, they can progress into youth leagues, including 12U and beyond, with skills and confidence built through Tee-Ball.
